Having trouble with the incoming links feed in your WordPress admin dashboard?
Using Google’s blog search, it is supposed to show you all the pages that are linking to your blog. However, even if you know that there are sites that link to your blog, it usually just shows a message like:
It has found no incoming links… yet. It’s okay — there is no rush.
All you need to do to fix this is to edit the URL it uses to do the blog link search:
- Mouse over the Incoming Links widget and click on configure.
- Replace the URL with: http://www.google.com/search?q={yourdomain}&hl=en&tbm=blg&output=rss&safe=off
- Replace the {yourdomain} with your domain (i.e. xyz.com) and then click submit.
The other option is to go to the google blog search page and type in your URL in the search box. On the results page is a section: “Stay up to date on these results”. Just copy the URL for the RSS feed from there.
